About Whatnot
Whatnot is a livestream shopping marketplace that connects buyers and sellers in real time through live video auctions and fixed-price sales. Founded in 2019, the platform focuses heavily on collectibles such as trading cards, comics, toys, sneakers, and other enthusiast categories, but has expanded into fashion, electronics, and many more niches. Sellers host live shows, showcase items on camera, and interact with viewers while buyers bid, purchase, and check out directly in the app or on the website.
A Whatnot charge on your card statement typically represents a purchase you made in the Whatnot app or on whatnot.com during a live stream or from a seller’s store. Charges may include the item price, buyer’s premium (if applicable), shipping, taxes, and sometimes separate authorizations for shipping label adjustments or combined orders. You might see multiple smaller charges if you purchased items from different shows or sellers on the same day, or a pending authorization if a payment method was just added or updated.
If you don’t recognize the charge, first check the Orders or Purchase History section of your Whatnot account (and any family members’ accounts that may share the same card). There you can match order totals and dates to the transaction on your statement and download receipts. If something looks incorrect—such as a duplicate charge, missing item, or unauthorized purchase—you should contact Whatnot support through the in‑app Help/Support section or the help pages on their website. You can also work with your card issuer if you suspect fraud, but starting with Whatnot’s support team usually results in faster clarification or resolution.
